Highlands Open Studios Launch New Initiatives

For 2011, Highlands Open Studios have announced some exciting new initiatives – firstly, to be launched in early April, is a calendar of events, which will accompany each Highlands Open Studios directory distributed across the Highlands, in shops, tourist attractions and galleries, etc. The professionally produced directory is free, and contains a comprehensive listing of 49 member artists, and 10 galleries, providing an overview of each artist, their location, outline of the media worked, together with a colour image of their work.

The Scottish Glass Society and Perth & Kinross Council are pleased to present Trove, a contemporary glass exhibition showcasing the work of 25 emerging and established Scottish glass artists. The theme of the exhibition is for artists to create new artworks that reveal the hidden treasure of the Perth Museum and Art Gallery reserve collection. The exhibition will run from the 28th of March 2011 until the 23rd of December 2011.
