Came to the Highlands in 1999 after a career organising major events for British Gas, which was a wonderful company to work for, before it was broken by that witch Mrs Thatcher. I told everybody at the time that Gas prices would hurtling go up but would they listen?

I am a Member of the Inverness Festivals Working Group and the organiser (with the help of many wonderful volunteers and colleagues) of the bigger civic events staged in the Highland Capital including The Inverness Highland Games and Armed Forces Day, Halloween Show on Ness Islands, Inverness Civic Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Inverness Christmas Lights Switch On, Rudolphs Winter Wonderland in Whin Park and Scotland's biggest free Hogmanay Event – The Red Hot Highland Fling in Northern Meeting Park Arena. I help with loads more but that will do because we would be here all day.

A former winner of the rather splendid Inverness City Advertiser's "Outstanding Contribution to Inverness" Award; the National Outdoor Events Association's Local Authority Best Practice Award and the proud owner of a Tourism Calgary White Stetson after being "White Hatted" in 2011. Any time you join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or the Daili Lama into a club is cool.

Currently recovering from the completion of my Msc in International Event Management and wondering what to do next.

Has been known to give entertaining but very hard hitting lectures to groups and event management students in Universities on the history of Highland Games and ongoing issues in the Scottish events industry under the protection of The Chatham House Rule.
