So, March already! I was hoping to be able to post all my wonderful activity but everyhting is taking so much time to get going. At least my fabric is all prepared and my chair prints are almost finished. Also dyed my silk/viscose devore and love the colour, thankfully! And all my hand-drawn screen images are ready to be exposed, just need to finish those chairs. Have also got some beautiful vintage grey army blankets which I plan to print from a chair design to make into cushions for the Stroud International textile fair.
I really hope my prints are finished by the end of the month so that I can focus on my hand embroidery and construction, will keep you posted!

I have good days and bad days! A bit frustrated, hoped to be further ahead than I am, but it all takes time. How are you getting on? Had plenty of gold/silver donations?! I plan to be in Inverness again next Tue and Thurs if you would like to meet for lunch? Are you going to thing in Ed on Wed? I can’t make it, shame, probably be good! x

So my designs are finalised and exposed onto screens for re-upholstering the balloon back chairs. I am now cutting the fabric to size and have done sample prints with my colours. Figers crossed everything works out on the fabric now!

Every day I seem to find a new reason to not start blogging. I’m sure my fellow ’making progress’ makers feel the same as I am continually looking to see who blogs first! Ah well, it’s time to bite the bullet and just get going.
I have been really busy this month preparing for the spotlight exhibition at the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery in May. I was also very pleased to be awarded a creative development grant form the Scottish Arts Council and at the moment the studio is in upheavel as I try to set up my new printing tables. Why do we always need more space? I have also booked to expose my new screens at Highland Print Studio in Inverness next Friday. Very exciting, plus a good deadline to get my designs finalised and drawn up! Quite good that I need to get chairs to an upholsterer by the end of February, get my skates on!
I finally got some new photos taken of my work with Fin Macrae and chose the ones I liked yesterday so I may actaully have some images soon, not to mention website… phewph..6 months ago · View
