Pier Arts Centre hosts screenings of The Itch of the Golden Nit

On Friday 8 July 2011 the Pier Arts Centre will be screening the Tate Movie project – The Itch of the Golden Nit – a half-hour film showcasing the artwork of thousands of children, and featuring the voice talent of David Walliams, Miranda Hart, Harry Enfield and Catherine Tate.

Stromness exhibition has the street for a gallery and windows for frames

The Stromness streets are set to become a gallery for the exhibition ‘Open Windows’. A group of forty-five artists will be showing their work in windows throughout the town. The on-street gallery stretches from the Pierhead to just beyond the Museum, framed in the windows of householders and businesses.

The names of 20 Scottish museum and galleries who successfully bid to host one of twenty paid internships offered by Museums Galleries Scotland have been announced. Orkney Islands Council Arts, Museums and Heritage Service and The Pier Arts Centre have successfully secured one of these internships and the process to find a Museums and Gallery Intern has commenced.
